Associate Project Manager (Project Coordinator): CMC Project Management

* The Associate Project Manager/Project Coordinator will support project planning, building timelines, budgeting, integrating, tracking and communicating project activities for Portola's CMC development programs. This will include working with internal stakeholders, as well as Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs). The successful candidate will build and maintain project timelines, support project team meetings (Agendas and Minutes), and regularly communicate risks and issues.

Responsibilities

* Manage and facilitate project team meetings (Agendas and minutes)

* Utilize project management tools and best practices to support & communicate project activities across the functional areas

* Manage regular updates to timelines using appropriate Project management tools (Microsoft Project, Microsoft excel)

* Capture decisions and risks for program to ensure timely updates

* Document, track and communicate progress against timelines, milestones and budgets

* Assist with cross-functional project team meetings and drive on-time completion of deliverables

* Facilitate problem-solving, contingency planning, and decision-making

* Co-ordinate and track status of cross-functional communication and integration activities

* Other activities as may be assigned as necessary.

Education & Skills

* A minimum BS in Biological Sciences, Bioengineering, Chemistry or an associated scientific or technical discipline

* 3- 5 years' experience in the biotechnology or pharma industry ( 2 yrs in project/program management)

* Basic understanding of Project management fundamentals. Familiar with Project management practices & tools

* Understanding/ Experience with process development and manufacturing of small and large molecule products

* Familiarity with biological product development phases and regulatory requirements a plus

* Excellent inter-personal & organizational skills

* Excellent written and oral communication skills

* Ability to operate in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment
